Hi! If you've managed to find our little blog, welcome to Roth Rockin' on a budget! I'm Lacie, I'm married to my wonderful husband Adam and we have two very VERY active and busy kids. Our daughter (15) is a competitive dancer and apprentice with a traveling convention. My son (12) is a competitive Gymnast (he did dabble in competitive dance when he was younger). Sometimes I swear we are traveling every weekend. Costs rack up, between hotel fees, monthly tuition, costumes, conventions, competition fees, and food and gas I've had to teach myself and acquire some skills along the way to make sure we can afford it all.

My plan with this blog is to share some of my tips for how I manage to cut costs, travel, and fund our kids' extracurricular activities (which

we all know can be costly). I decided to take on this blog after several of my fellow mom friends made the suggestion. I should forewarn you, I have never blogged before, in fact, I can't even say I follow many blogs, so this may be really interesting.

My Goals

My goal with this blog, as I mentioned before is to share HOW my husband and I make this all happen, what we've learned, our ups and downs, and everything in between. We both have decent jobs but we are by no means rich. He covers monthly tuition costs and I handle all the rest. Over my years of doing this, I've managed to figure out a few "tricks of the trade", if you will. I plan to share my money-saving tricks, and how I manage to save on things like hotels, food, and more. I will share how we do competition/convention days, some of my must-haves when packing and traveling, and other helpful information.

Most of my posts will be in relation to our travel for dance, as that takes up most of our travel, but not all. I plan to share other information as well. I also have hopes that this will become a community place where parents can share advice, ask questions, and just support one another.

up an email just for this blog but have not yet. I will update you when I do that. Let's just take this for a quick trip around the block first and see where we get.

I plan to try to post consistently, maybe once or twice a month. I may post more if there is something interesting going on. So if you are interested in coming along this journey of my crazy life as a dance/gymnastic/soccer/baseball/more mom, subscribe!
