Rebranding!

So, this is just a quick post on WHY I'm changing the name of this blog (especially so early) and why I chose the name I did.

Ok so I've put in a lot of time thinking of a new name for the blog. While my blogging project is still a baby in the blogging world, I've decided it needs a new name. Originally, I went with Rothrockin on a Budget because, well, it had my last name in it and utilized the word budget hahaha. A friend of mine actually came up with it when I made a post asking for name ideas. Originally my blog was going to be mainly focused on talking about saving money while traveling. However, after doing this consistently for several months, I've realized that this blog has become more of a running journal, if you will, with tips and tricks sprinkled along the way. I find myself sharing more family updates and happenings, so I decided this blog wasn't budget ONLY.

Those of you who know me personally may be saying "Lacie, your middle name is not Lou. It's Ann!" Well, you're right. However, I have been Lacie Lou Alonzo Lilly Pad the Third basically my whole life hahaha. This is a nickname given to me by my Uncle John.

For those of you who don't know me, I'm super close to my Uncle John (my mom's brother). He's one of the funniest and most caring guys I know, and I've always looked to him as almost a "father figure". In fact, when I went to go pick out my wedding dress, HE was the one who was the most opinionated. My dress had to be perfect... and I wanted him to think, no, KNOW, it was perfect. I needed his approval for it. He was the only guy I invited to come with me and all my girls to pick out my dress. While all the girls were "oohing and ahhing", he was over there shaking his head as if saying, "Nope, I don't like this one". I wanted to know why. WHAT don't you like about this one, what DO you like about this or that? ... However, he then informed us that he wanted me in a stereotypical "princess ball gown", so, swaying him to a mermaid style was fun to do LOL. I was 29, not vibing with the princess style hahahaha! He ultimately decided to like the one I liked and wanted and gave me his approval with a big hug and a kiss on the cheek... after saying " it needs something sparkly though". So we found a beautiful belt to accessorize it with. I would have never imagined he would have been so vocal and opinionated during wedding dress shopping, but he was, and I LOVED it. ( I will say, he didn't like my bird cave veil, but I was set on it hahahahaha! Sorry, not sorry.)

Anyways, so yea, that is why I chose the name I did, "Lacie Lou". It has a very special meaning to me and makes me happy and makes me giggle.

New With Me

I've also launched my photography business website, Lacie Rothrock Photography

My photography is more of a passion project. I LOVE taking photos and have been trying out some new methods and tricks to try to work on my skill set and figure out what exactly I want to focus more on. As of right now, I've really been enjoying taking photos of my kids in their activities. I got a few team photo sessions coming up as well as a maternity shoot.

Also, I've finally completed my Master's Degree. Go me! This is something that as a teen, I NEVER thought I would accomplish. I never thought school was for me and I didn't think I'd go this far. I don't plan on stopping and I do plan on going to get my Ph.D. in Forensic Anthropology. However, I need a short breather just to focus on ME. I plan to go back to school next year to start the Doctorate program.

Anywho, I think I'm going to cut this blog super short since it is just a quick update on some changes. Keep your eyes peeled for some fun things! I have some more updates on the kids and our family, in general, coming soon!
